Portrait Gallery

First and foremost I consider myself a portrait artist, reason that I pay special attention to the face of my subject.  I need very good reference when I'm drawing the face.  Whenever I'm commissioned for an illustration many people just give me snap shots of photos they've taken themselves and they swear it's a great picture.  They don't understand however, that I'm seeing it from an artist's perspective and I have to be able to see the detail on the eyes, the lips, the nose, etc."
