Portrait Gallery

"First and foremost I consider myself a portrait artist, reason that I pay special attention to the face of my subject.  I need very good reference when I'm drawing the face.  Whenever I'm commissioned for a portrait many people just give me snap shots of photos they've taken themselves and they swear it's a great picture.  They don't understand however, that I'm seeing it from an artist's perspective and I have to be able to see the detail on the eyes, the lips, the nose, etc."
